Six people of our camp went to Gabi Drobesch’s birthday Friday evening; that’s why we couldn’t join the rest of the group on Sunday morning which visited the salt mine “Salzwelten” in Bad Ausee. The others had the possibility to explore the huge network of this salt mine from the inside, slide through the tunnel system and finally experience an impressive audio-visual show of mirror images and light effects at the end of the guided tour. Afterwards, we met our campmates in Grundlsee, where we were given the opportunity to wear typical Austrian clothes: the girls wore “Dirndl” dresses and the boys “Lederhosen”. We had a wonderful meal followed by traditional dancing and also played funny games in pairs or groups of people. We could spend lots of time talking to locals from Grundlsee and later on also performed two songs we had been practising in the choir rehearsal every day. The bus trip back home was quite long and as we were starving, we had some pizza. After that, we made ourselves a cup of coffee but soon went to bed, since Gabi’s birthday was a big pleasure but simply had made us tired.
